Tips for making your equipment classroom-friendly

  • Contents: 10 sets of 55 dominoes. To uniquely identify each set Anita places a coloured sticky dot (the same colour for one set) on the back of each domino. Anita uses a different coloured dot for each set. In the photo of Anita’s class kit, she has used five different coloured dots for the 10 sets.
  • How used: One set per 4 students (remember, not all students may be able to work cooperatively in a group so make sure you have extra sets!)
  • How packaged: As each set already comes in a sturdy and durable cardboard box, there is no need to buy plastic Fischer containers to repackage them into.
  • How stored: Class kit of 10 sets of 55 dominoes stacked on a designated maths shelf in the classroom.

  • DIY: Download Anita’s printable. Photocopy each set (5 A4 pages) onto coloured paper (use different colours for different sets so they are classroom friendly). Laminate each page. Cut. Buy snap lock bags (Hercules, snack size, 15 cm x 9 cm) to place each set of 55 dominoes in. Package the class kit in a snap lock bag (.
