After-school whole staff workshop (2 or 3 hours)

Appropriate phase of learning journey with Anita:      START   |    MIDDLE   |   END

Want to learn strategies for whole-class differentiated instruction of fractions that can be used across your whole school?

Then this hands-on workshop presented by Anita Chin is for you!

Course Description

Anita will demonstrate how to differentiate whole-class instruction for fractions using the NSW Mathematics K-6 Syllabus. She will show and explain teaching strategies that include using visual models, rich mathematical language, and open-ended questioning techniques.

Teachers will engage in a variety of classroom-ready tasks about fractions, including the use of pattern blocks and ten-frames. Throughout the course, Anita will also offer practical advice on how to implement a consistent whole-school approach to mathematics.

If you choose the 3-hour course, teachers will have the opportunity to delve deeper into the developmental sequence of content from Kindergarten to Year 6. Working in small teams, teachers will then reflect on their current practice and begin to determine areas of change moving forward.

Course Delivery Model
