Leading Mathematics PL

6-month face-to-face long course

Take your school’s maths from good to great with this immersive long course, designed to develop maths leaders. Our very first leadership long course equips primary school leaders with the tools they need to effectively change the way maths is taught and learned at their schools.

Based on the transformative Whole-School Approach to Mathematics K-6 Model (Waugh & Chin, 2018), the course will help leaders build their teachers’ capacity to differentiate instruction and move from ‘islands of good practice’ to a whole-school approach: where content, culture and classroom practice all work together to create consistent, high-quality maths teaching and learning.

If you want to learn key strategies for transforming the teaching and learning of mathematics at your school, you can’t afford to miss this!

Designed for school teams of up to six including:

  • principals
  • executives
  • mathematics/numeracy leaders
  • passionate classroom teachers who are committed to transforming maths at their school.

Next course starts in March 2019

Don’t miss this exclusive workshop series at Biraban Public School, Toronto, NSW. This is the only course of its type being offered in 2019.
The next course will run in Term 1, 2020.

Based on The Whole-School Approach to Mathematics K-6 Model

Leading Mathematics at Your Primary School: A Complete Toolkit is based on The Whole-School Approach to Mathematics K-6 Model which Anita Chin designed and launched with Tim Waugh in 2018.

Anita believes a whole-school approach to mathematics is the essential ingredient in transforming the teaching and learning of mathematics in primary schools. The Whole-School Approach Model brings together all the pieces of the puzzle, revealing the culture, beliefs, behaviours and practices schools need to adopt in order to achieve consistent and sustainable high-quality teaching and learning of mathematics.

All course participants will also gain access to the proprietary Health Check and 10-minute Action Plan tools, designed to complement and support The Whole-School Approach Model.
